Preparation

  1. Weigh out salicylic acid using non-metal spatula
  2. On a glass slab, triturate the salicylic acid and sulphur with a small amount of aqueous cream to make a smooth paste
  3. Gradually incorporate the remaining aqueous cream to make 50 g through doubling method
  4. Ensure all contents are triturated/mixed well so that no flecks/spots are noticeable
  5. Transfer the contents to a clear glass jar with a spatula
  6. Tap the jar to ensure that the cream has settled to the bottom/smooth out the top of the cream [Never on the counter; tap on the palm gently]

Preservative Calcs

Aq. cream contains 1% w/w of phenoxyethanol (1 g phenoxyethanol in 100 g Aq. cream).

Since we're using 96 g of Aq. cream, we're using 0.96 % w/w phenoxyethanol.
